In short: PocketHID and PocketHID Remote do not contain advertising or analytics, do not require an account, and do not send keyboard, mouse or clipboard input to an Internet service. The apps do not request Internet access.

Who provides the apps

Information the apps process

The apps use Bluetooth Low Energy to discover, pair with and control a PocketHID device. Android may provide the app with a device address, advertised device name, connection state and PocketHID status information. These are used only to operate the connection.

When you explicitly choose “Paste clipboard,” the selected clipboard text is read on the device and converted into keyboard input. It is not uploaded or retained as an online record.

Information stored on your phone

The apps store preferences and a local list of PocketHID devices you have connected to, including their Bluetooth address, displayed or friendly name, and last-used time. This information remains in the app’s private storage. Android backup is disabled for the apps.

Permissions

Nearby devices / Bluetooth: required to scan for, pair with and communicate with PocketHID hardware.
Location on Android 11 and older: older Android versions require location permission for Bluetooth scanning. PocketHID does not use it to obtain or store your physical location.
Notifications and foreground service: used to keep an active Bluetooth session available in the background and show its state.
Wake lock: used for a bounded period so the optional screen-off disconnect timer remains reliable.

Data sharing and Internet access

The apps do not declare Android’s Internet permission. They do not operate a user-account service, advertising SDK, analytics SDK or remote crash-reporting service. The app therefore does not sell or share personal data with such services.

Google Play may process information independently when you visit the store, install an app or make a purchase. Google’s handling of that information is governed by Google’s own privacy terms.

Website

The PocketHID website does not set advertising or analytics cookies. The hosting infrastructure may retain ordinary security and access logs, such as request time, requested path and IP address. The firmware installer component is currently loaded from the UNPKG content delivery network, which receives a normal web request from your browser.

Children

The apps are general-purpose utilities and are not directed specifically at children. They do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

This policy may be updated when the apps, website or distribution method changes. The date at the top identifies the latest revision.
